SHAWN M. GOLDSTEIN, ESQ.
Shawn M. Goldstein is the founder of Goldstein Law Ltd., a law office dedicated to excellence in the practice of family law. With a decade of experience, he has practiced family law litigation at the highest level with an emphasis on divorce actions for high net-worth individuals with complex asset structures, alimony cases with significant lifestyle considerations, highly contested child custody and relocation matters, paternity and child support cases, annulments, and all aspects of prenuptial, postnuptial and marital settlement agreements.
Knowledge of Complex Cases
Having represented numerous high-profile individuals (or their spouses) from the business, professional, sports and entertainment industries, Shawn M. Goldstein understands the complexity of these cases, the discretion they often require, and what it takes to resolve them, either through a negotiated settlement or contested litigation. Most importantly, Shawn M. Goldstein is focused on results and his track record of delivering those results to his clients is exemplary.
Experience and Commitment Where It Counts
In 2014, Shawn M. Goldstein was part of the trial team that completed what is believed to be the longest trial in the history of the southern Nevada Family Court. He met and exceeded his client’s expectations after more than 31 days in trial, including an 8-figure award for his client.
Shawn M. Goldstein has litigated and successfully resolved numerous cases where the parties’ net worth is in excess of ten million dollars, several cases in excess of one hundred million dollars, and two cases in excess of one billion dollars.
A Network of Experts
Mr. Goldstein works with many experts in order to work towards the best outcomes for his clients, including:
- Forensic Accountants

- Psychological Experts and Child Custody Evaluators
- Real Estate Experts
- Vocational Experts and Certified Divorce Financial Analysts
- Forensic Document Examiner and Handwriting Experts
Passion for Asset Protection and Committed Representation
Shawn M. Goldstein also understands how important it is for his clients to protect their hard-earned wealth. After all, many of Shawn M. Goldstein’s clients did not work so hard just to see half of it disappear in the unhappy event of a divorce.
The law of prenuptial agreements in Nevada is ripe with potential pitfalls for the inexperienced attorney, which could significantly impact a client’s finances if not done properly. He has prepared numerous prenuptial agreements, none of which have been invalidated in court.
Dedication to Child Custody Outcomes
Finances are not the only focus of Mr. Goldstein’s practice; Shawn M. Goldstein knows that children are often the most important aspect of a client’s case. He has litigated what one judge described as the most highly contested child custody matter in her 15+ years on the bench.
In that case, Shawn M. Goldstein was able to completely fend off a relocation effort where the other side wanted to move with the children to another state thousands of miles away. He was also able to convince the court in that case that his client, who only had limited time with the children when he hired Shawn M. Goldstein, should have joint physical custody.
Community Efforts and Involvement
While these cases are representative of some of Shawn M. Goldstein’s clientele, he also performs pro bono work and, in 2013, was recognized by the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada Pro Bono Project for his dedication and service to the community by providing pro bono legal services to low income clients.
Education and Excellence
Originally from Southern California, Shawn M. Goldstein has resided in Las Vegas since 1987. He received multiple scholarships to attend UNLV, where he graduated with a B.A. in Psychology. Shawn M. Goldstein then returned to Southern California and attended Southwestern University School of Law, where his academic excellence continued as he was awarded the Paul W.
